Network Engineer

Main Duties

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software such as routers, firewalls, switches and wireless access points
• Setting up and maintaining local area networks (LAN), wide-area networks (WAN), virtual private networks (VPN), point-to-point connections as well as external carrier connectivity
• Performing daily performance monitoring, capacity analysis and maintaining security posture of the network
• Resolving network connectivity issues for clients
• Maintaining and troubleshooting storage networks
• Performing network infrastructure maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper security and operational posture
• Performing a backup role for Systems Support Engineers to provide L2 and L3 support

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any relevant field
• Sound knowledge of networking with a minimum of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• Exposure to Unix/Linux operating systems such as Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX or RedHat Linux
• Hands-on interaction with network and cybersecurity solutions such as Cisco, Checkpoint, Sophos, Kemp or F5
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in IT
