Idias Corporation recently delivered a new platform to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA) and conducted training for users from its ICT team, Public Relations Office, and communication officers. The platform, developed with funding from the European Union through the Chuma Cha Dziko (CCD) programme, aims to promote information sharing among various stakeholders and raise awareness of MoFEA’s functions and activities. It serves as an online repository for reports, documents, and other relevant materials, helping to increase understanding of the Ministry's role in fulfilling its mandate.
MoFEA is responsible for formulating economic and fiscal policies that manage the government's financial and material resources. It also provides strategic guidance on economic and development planning, based on accurate and reliable statistics, to drive socio-economic growth. CCD programme, which funded the platform, provides technical assistance to the MoFEA and other ministries and agencies. It also supports the Malawi Revenue Authority and builds capacity among academia, the media, and civil society. By addressing key constraints to economic growth, including corruption and taxation, the programme promotes accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.
